Liz Cullinane invited me to collaborate on her film 'Opera in a Box' - a libretto written from Mary Swanzy's perspective about the political substance of her work and life performed inside a paper theatre. Cullinane approached me to see what could be gleaned from a multidisciplinary approach to the film. This unique perspective of Swanzy's life was explored through elements of animation, painting and cut-outs, as I worked towards giving a visual language to the themes of the libretto.
