Glen Folk

‘Glen Folk’ was devised by Spoon and Bloom, a collaboration between Annie Mar and Aaron Ross produced by Gleann a'Phúca.

This project originated in a series of public engagements with local walkers of the Glen River Park on the north side of Cork City. Drawing and map-making workshops, a dog meet up, a walking history of the park with historian Gerard O'Brien and a walking talk of the biodiversity in the park with herbalist Eoin Marshall lead to the unearthing of stories from all reaches of the parkland. These interactions formed the 'Glen Folk' animation series: five short illustrated films featuring stories from Ann Dalton, Aaron Scott, Denis Fitzpatrick, Gerard O'Brien and Claire Lynch.

This project was supported by the Creative Ireland Climate Action Fund and The Local Authority Waters Programme.
